'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith continues clash with City.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the dramatic dying seconds of Swansea's remarkable turnaround victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a spectator's eyewear following the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful effort from 25 yards, and Cameron Burgess quickly slammed home the deflection before racing off toward the East Stand to celebrate, with the crowd swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result completed an extraordinary recovery given Swansea had found themselves down 2-0 midway through the final 45 minutes. Amid the euphoria, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter shouting out and we were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're individuals, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory secured a upcoming game at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a club Galbraith ran close at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when the underdogs took the lead in stunning style, with the attacker's volley from about long distance going in via the crossbar and the opposition keeper. It feels criminal that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that far out," says Galbraith, who started in midfield before switching to right defensive wing after Orient changed formation. That meant competing with Jack Grealish, with whom he traded tops, and the winger was among the City players who praised the way Orient played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are very good but even the basics and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," Galbraith says. "It seems as if they complete every delivery and they are adept at dictate and neutralize a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on throughout of the game. It demands a resilient mindset and concentration just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

The club pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to bring him in in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He made a name as a fans' favourite across a couple of years at Orient and has swiftly achieved similar status in Wales. At the London club he joined forces once more with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in first-team action on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a spell at lower division the Manchester club, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a slightly green going into professional soccer. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is completely distinct. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without real physicality. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

National Team Success

His progress reflects that growth for club and country, shining for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the World Cup next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has started the recent fixtures, including both legs encounters against a football powerhouse. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This marks a remarkable path for the player from the Queens Park estate in his hometown, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who was raised observing his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a engine room operator, play for a local club.

Manchester United Experience

His only game for the Red Devils came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the host city, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the arena covering was shut owing to temperatures of freezing cold. "It was a extended travel and it was chilly," he recalls, grinning. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads trained together, so that assisted our preparation. Just to travel with the first team and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Leaving United

How difficult was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged 16? "The decision proved quite easy, because I got to the stage where I understood I wasn't going to make it at the top level. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I thought I had to take a different path, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually progressing again."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a minibus driven by academy staff, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include the Portuguese player, the Brazilian, an Ivorian player – Melker Widell used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's pleasant to interact with the guys but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and behind the wheel. His teammate likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Supporter Connections

While playing for Leyton Orient, Galbraith would mix with followers on the Tube after commuting at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
